When Y-Love (Yitz Jordan) released his first mixtape in 2005, the world took note of the first African-American Orthodox Jewish hiphop artist.  Now, with the upcoming release of his newest album, "This is Unity", the "soundtrack to social progression" (as URB Magazine called him) is making himself a fixture in the new world of hip hop revolutionaries. Y-Love's "global hip hop" style, seamlessly intertwining English, Arabic, Hebrew, Yiddish, Aramaic, and Latin, combines ethereal scripture with gritty social consciousness, reflecting his own life-changing conversion to Judaism. Having graced the stage with luminaries as varied and respected as Lou Reed, Idan Raichel, DJ Spooky, Matisyahu, Steinski, and Immortal Technique, Y-Love has proven himself as a formidable presence in the world of hip hop.  Y-Love's first full length album, "This is Babylon," with its Parliament/Outkast-esque production vibe, gained praise worldwide - and Y-Love would make appearances from BBC World TV to The Conan O'Brien Show. His compelling life story has been featured in publications from USA Today to Italy's La Repubblica and XXL Magazine along with over 70 other this past year. URB placed Y-Love in their NEXT 1000 and The Jerusalem Post called him "the scene's next crossover success". With "This is Unity", Y-Love once again breathes new life into hip-hop, one beat at a time.
