  • First Day of IMPACT!

Today we joined CMS at Pilgrim Church in Dorchester. We met with Carl McDonald from City Mission and Matt who is a steady volunteer at the church. Pilgrim operates as a church on Sundays but also functions as a shelter for homeless men 7 days a week. After touring the grounds, our group was put to the task to deismantling an old retaining wall to make a foundation for a new rock wall in front of their flower garden. We got  down and dirty with shovels and pick axes in the 90 degree heat! We also helped beautify the church by setting up new bookshelves in a convenient location.

The first day ended with a bang and we are confident that the rest of the week will be just as exciting!
