Ma'asim Tovim/B'nai TELEM is the service learning component of our 6th and 7th grade learning program at Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley, MA. In the fall of 6th grade, students join one of our pre-arranged Ma'asim Tovim volunteer groups. About once a month throughout the school year, each group volunteers with an organization in the greater Boston area. Volunteer sessions always begin or end with service learning activities that connect Jewish values with the students' social justice endeavors. Students volunteer with the Ma'asim Tovim group they have selected until the spring of 7th grade.
Each year, Ma'asim Tovim students also raise money and awareness for their Ma'asim Tovim organizations through TBE's annual Purim Carnival. Students create and run booths at the carnival that are based on their volunteer work, and all carnival proceeds are donated to our partner organizations.
