Working with People First for the past few days has been thethe most amazing experience. We have been working with mulitple groups of adults with disabilities. Getting to know all of them on a personal level made me realize that they are people just like we are. There is no difference between “typical” people versus persons with disablities. We learned a lot about how a non-profit business is run and what the consumers are given from the government. Also, we went to one location for three days and each one of us was paired up with a consumer to be partners with. We all formed these bonds that cannot be put into words. It was amazing to come back each day to People First and see everyones smiling faces. Everyone there was always so happy and it was extremely rewarding. It was honestly one of the best experiences.
