Big Brothers Big Sisters family,

With the Spring holiday upon us, I would like to share with you some of our organization's new developments:

At the beginning of the year, we opened a new branch in the city of Or Yehuda. Welcome to Lani Bar-On on her new role as Branch Coordinator and many thanks to the municipality of Or Yehuda and the College for Academic Studies in Or Yehuda for their fruitful and loyal partnership.

We are very happy to report that the Haifa Big Brothers Big Sisters organization is about to join us as a recognized branch of our national organization. Thanks to the Haifa Branch Chairman of the Board, Mr. Jackie Amsalem, and to the Deputy Chairwoman Ms. Hanit Gabai and to all of the Executive Board members who made this possible. And, a hearty welcome to staff members Ms. Rina Shmueli and Ms. Miri Levy.

During the month of April, we will embark upon a new partnership with the municipality of Ramat Gan. More news and updates to come...

We joined the training staff of the Social Involvement Department at the Hebrew University as part of the "Ofee" Project thank you to Project Manager Mr. Ben Ben-Ari.

We began a unique partnership with The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in which students are matched with children who are interested in learning music or dance. Thank you to the Director of the Social Involvement Unit, Ms. Anna Shapira .

We have expanded the services that we provide in the "Perach B'gani" project from the Neve Eliezer neighborhood to the Shapira neighborhood (southern Tel Aviv). Thank you to Ms. Dorit Segal, Director of the "Perach B'gani" project for their ongoing partnership.

We initiated a new project for children in the afterschool program of the Eitan chapter of the Israel Scouts in southern Tel Aviv together with the "Tzimaon" organization. Thank you to Chapter Chairwoman Ms. YifatTeharani, to "Tzimaon" volunteer Ms. Granit Shtuckman and to the Afterschool Program Coordinator Ms. Amit Davidson for their cooperation and partnership.

In accordance with a recent decision made by our Executive Board, we have increased our efforts to recruit additional partners from the cooperate sector. We hope that we will be successful in our efforts to interest additional partners in our endeavors this year.

Professional training of our volunteers continues on a regular basis and lately we provided five workshops on the subject of the relationship between the volunteer and the child's parent, as well as lectures on the topic of identifying sexual violence in teens.

All of our branches are steadily growing and developing which allows us to serve more and more children and teens our first and primary goal

Mazal tov to Alva Dafni on the birth of her son!
