Check it out: A kid from Newton, Mass raised a lot of $ for the KFar

Last year we had a special visitor who was touring Israel and happened to come with their synagogue group to our Youth Village.

Josh (who is only 12 years old) was so inspired by the therapeutic petting zoo on our village that he took it upon himself to raise over $2,000 through over 50 members of his family and friends for the kids at Kfar Hassidim Youth Village in Israel as his Bar Mitzvah project.  He has done this by illustrating 5 greeting cards and giving them as a "thank you" gift to individuals who make a donation to the school.  All proceeds raised went toward the therapeutic animal care program at the youth village.

Josh is a 12 year old who lives in Newton.  He is in seventh grade at Solomon Schechter Day School in Newton.  This project is the fruition of 6 months of work, all of Josh's own doing.  The illustrations used on the cards took him between 4-5 hours to complete.
