Beth Young is the Director of Education at Temple Judea in Coral Gables, FL. In this position she works to provide exciting educational opportunities for students from Kindergarten through adulthood. She is particularly interested in the merger of formal and informal education and bringing Jewish education into the Technology Age. Beth is a board member of the National Association of Temple Educators and is co-chairing the national conference, Imagineering Jewish Education for the 21st Century, to be held in Seattle, Washington in January 2011.
Beth holds a Masters in Jewish Education from the Rhea Hirsch School of Education at Hebrew Union College in Los Angeles, CA and completed her undergraduate studies in political science at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. In 2004 she received the title of Reform Jewish Educator from the National Association of Temple Educators (NATE).
Prior to moving to Miami, Beth served for three years as the Director of Teen Education at the Agency for Jewish Learning in Pittsburgh, PA where she worked to create a vibrant program of learning and experience for Jewish teens throughout the community, embracing multiple entry points for Jewish involvement and education.
Beth is a member of Pi Lambda Theta, the national education honor society. In 2007, Beth received the Ira and Nanette Gordon Community Professional Achievement Award and was a participant in the Kaplan seminar for emerging Jewish Professionals. She published “What Motivates College Students,” based on her undergraduate honors
